The evening was presided over by the Chief Guest, Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Vice Chancellor YMCA University of Science and Technology. The event of the grand evening began with traditional lamp lighting followed by Choir and Guru Vandana. The Director Principal, Mr. U.S. Verma welcomed the august gathering and congratulated the young scholars of classes VI to XII. He appreciated the efforts of the parents and urged them to help the students to focus on their goals. Close to nine hundred meritorious students of the school were presented with Tablets, Shields, Scholarships, Scholar Ties, Scholar Badges and Scholar Blazers for their scholastic and co-scholastic achievements. Their smiling faces reflected the glint in the eyes of their eager and proud parents.
The highlight of the evening was a play by the maverick story teller O’ Henry—‘A Retrieved Reformation.’ The essence of the play was how, if given a chance, anyone can be reformed into a better human being. The students left the audience spellbound with their exhilarating performance. Wonderful stagecraft, costumes, melodious orchestra and highly coordinated movements mesmerized the audience. The evening was made all the more colourful with the cultural programmes. The folk dance, Harmonious Haryana was a scintillating presentation.
The chief guest was superlative in his appreciation of the students for the confidence, poise and elan of the budding artists of Modern Delhi Public School. He lauded the vision and guidance of the Director Principal under whose able mentorship the school is scaling such great heights. He also urged the parents to spend quality time with their children and be their role models. S. Bhuvanesh (Head Boy) and Reshham Girdhar (Head Girl) proposed the Vote of Thanks. The event culminated with the National Anthem.
